PS: You have a point about Syd with the guitar.

He did show up with a guitar (no strings) and asked when they were going to get started. He also had a toothbrush in his pocket which he kept going to brush his teeth with.

Putting both on there was an error as both answers would be correct.

I think I'll change that.

Thumbs up Re: How well do you know your Pink Floyd trivia?

I fixed it.

I took guitar out as one of the answers. Apologies to any who selected guitar and got it wrong.

14, this test is hard man, I know more about the band than anyone I know. Many technical things like awards and "Floyd Droids" tripped me up, I mean, is the name for the group's lighting equipment really common knowledge amongst the Floyd-trivia elite?

I scored 19 on the test, but I guessed on a few. I thought I was much more of a PF freak than this

Lightbulb Re: How well do you know your Pink Floyd trivia?

I checked all the answers with the PF Encyclopedia after looking up Geoff Mott and the Mottoes (one of the other questions the quiz has been called on) and they are all accurate.

FYI to the poster that asked about it. The Encyclopedia lists the Mottoes as his first band (1962) and Hollerin' Blues as his 3rd (1964).

It's a tough quiz guys, no shame in a low score.

I know the PF Encyclopedia says Syd was in Hollerin' Blues in 1964, but I think that is wrong. I've tried looking further into it, and there are 2 conflicting schools of thought out there. 1964 AND 1962.

Bruno MacDonald, of T.A.P. fame, and author of the book "Pink Floyd--Thru the eyes of the Band, it's fans, Friends & foes" has established the time of Syd's involvement with Hollerin' Blues as being in 1962, before Geoff Mott & the Mottoes.

My reason for believing 1962, besides my respect for Bruno, is that there is almost no info available about Syd's involvement with Hollerin' Blues, but from the time he was with GM&tM later in 1962, his connection to Those Without(Autumn 1963), Leonard's Lodgers(Summer 1964), and the first incarnation of PF (with Bob Klose and Chris Dennis) from Autumn 1964 on, are well-documented. I believe someone mistakenly threw the "1964" date in there for Hollerin' Blues and it stuck.

Obviously, it's no big deal, one way or the other. My point is that even the PF Encyclopedia has some errors in it.

have i been cheated?

is it the screaming abdabs or just the abdabs?

re: question # 1

I was 50/50 on the Jokers Wild choice, but The Abdabs threw me off because I'm used to hearing it called "The Screaming Abdabs". So I chose it in hope that it were a trick question and that I were smart. It was wrong. Oh well, I tried. 15/25

Re: How well do you know your Pink Floyd trivia?

Jokers Wild was the band Gilmour was with just prior to his joining PF, not an early version of the Floyd.

The "Abdabs" were a.k.a. the "Screaming Abdabs", "Architectural Abdabs", "Megadeaths"(!!), "Sigma 6", and probably a few other names.
