Having been directed back through this thread to some of the more inflammatory comments that Watersfan has made, I'm going to quickly say that his summarisation of GI Jane is correct. It is an undeniably shit film made for 'chick with attitude' and in no way can it be apportioned anything other than scorn and derision. Manipulative rubbish. What Ridley Scott was doing helming it, I'll never know. I can only assume the finished product was so weak because he had hads doubts about it and how it clashed with his integrity the whole way through the bloody filming of the thing. It IS a women's rights movie, in the sense that it is aimed at proto feminists who STILL THINK that feminism is trying to match up to men's achievments, when in fact they should be striving out on their own path, making more of an effort to define 'woman' as it's own race. Can you see what I'm getting at here?

Bill Clinton- bit dodgy- did some good shit for the US, is not a cowboy- top shagger. Better than now. Towel stealer, hotels. You know the sort.

On the 'other' matter, I think that you have to look to what Watersfan has written and then try and put it into the context of an inarticulate young man growing up in Illinois, USA. He's trying to make a point on a matter that he doesn't fully understand, at an age which gives him no insight as to other's (people, races, cultures, whatever) motivations or reasonings. And God knows, haven't we all been like that it our time? At least he's slightly aware and those feelings which he rashly expresses now can only mature over time and turn 180. He will make it, just give the wee guy time.

If you can't be arsed with that, find your 'ignore' function and go there. It's up to you, but would you really publically confront a 13 year old in real life?

Not because its a women's lib film. Not because it stars Demi Moore (although that fact did not help), but just because it is a trash B-Grade flick, that seriously... i mean... isnt it an insult to anyone's intelligence? Men included?
