Listen to Roger's commentary track on the DVD. He makes it very clear that the dog's name is "nigger."

Re: Movie within "The Wall" movie

It "was a strategically placed-"nigger"- to add to the misanthropy inside Pink and outside The Wall world. Also a statement on Anglo-American racism. It also reappears to goad Pink to throw the T.V. out the window. "Come on nigger",-alluding to Pink's self loathing and imaginary catharsis. It is all a precursor to the Love/Hate by Waters of Television. I know some African American Pink Floyd fans-they are eccentric but understand the use of the word in the film as a reminder of how The Contemporary Social Situation Was Constructed . Slavery, racism, and CONTROL. bricks in a wall of isolation. Are coon,or queer any better? It is part of the whole horrible miasma of The Thin Ice of modern life….Fascist Dreams of a man who's Father was killed by Nazis. Truly Freudian transference of power. Fascists seeming more powerful in a child's mind than Big Dear Old Dad. It is psychologically logical.
