best band of now-a-times (not a poll...)

Yarg- with the majority of people here saying that pink floyd is the top band of "all time" (beethoven still makes it into the top ten of my list...)- and since this is rather irrelevent as the chances of them ever making another album/touring again is miniscul, the question arises as to the top band of now-a-times. and who exactly could this band be? i'm in with radiohead... hands down with the good lyrics and music. there are others tho... sigur ros... grr my cd's are upstairs, but there are other. well i'm done. "bust out" some bands that you think are tops now.

hmm thats kinda tricky... there are recent bands i like, but id be the first to admit theyre not exactly "top bands"... tho then again i dont really listen to much new stuff... the old stuff is just so good..

um, that was kinda pointless..

Radiohead definitely. Honourable mentions go to Coldplay and Mercury Rev.

Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Sigur Rós, Mogwai, Radiohead, Muse.... I don't know about top bands, but they definitely deserve a listen.

Now-a-times? Nice phrasing!

Radiohead, definately. Really. I mean... damn. You can't top that.

Thanks to Shane G. for forwarding an endless list of songs for me to download, which included the band I've now fallen madly in with.....Radiohead.

Is Beethoven a band?

Sigur Ros, Tool, Rage, Radiohead, Chris Cornell/ Rage combo (see Audioslave), and I know some here will kill me, Outkast, Jimmy Eat World.

Even though I am betting only two of the members here even know who they are TMBG were good for a bit, but now they seem like cartoonish spoofs of themselves.

Sigur Rós are the only ones that spring to mind, but I still haven't got round to listening to the new album again, so I might retract that in the next wee while.

Ps- Audioslave sound exactly like Rage Against The Machine featuring Chris Cornell.

I found it a bit hollow and verbally repetative.

No wonder you like it!
