Re: Tour 2003/2004?

If any incarnation of Floyd were going to tour, It'd be all over the radio and internet. They have made their non - desire to tour clear. Dont be influenced by the spin masters

As I see it there 2 reasons to tour again

1) To allow new listerners to experience a real life concert

2) To break the boundries of what is possible like they have done

I do not see why they could not, as long as they are fit enough.

What I would like to see is the albums played live in full like WYWH and the wall again. I realize that is a huge undertaking and there are also copyright issues. But I can dream.

Also it would not visit many places and I am here in WI so I would have a long way to travel!

I haven't seen ANY Pink Floyd shows. I did see Roger Waters last year but I don't think that was quite the spectacle of a Floyd show.

Anyway...yes...you can indeed dream. I still have a tiny hope that they'll pull on the tour boots one more time.

Welcome to the site by the way.

Pink Floyd will tour again when Saddam Hussein and George Bush tongue kiss, so it'll never happen. Do what I do: cry when no one is around, while holding the Animals LP. I would say CD but LP's are cooler looking and bigger.

Re: Tour 2003/2004?

I don't think they are going to perform live ever again.
The closest experience i've had (quite close!) is Roger Waters in Argentina, March, 7th 2002.
This was beyond-amazing, It was a summer night, kind of stormy and nature collaborated with a set of lightinings which seemed to have been planned as part of the show... Much more than enough, but one can never get enough of something you really like...

Re: Tour 2003/2004?

Hey all

I'm brand new here (duh) but I did find this site about a year ago and kind of forgot about it. Anyways, I did read an interview with David once where he did say he thought he could no longer hit the high notes like he used to. Lets be thankfull that those guys gave us all these years of AWESOME music and I myself have two wonderfull concert experiences to always remember. Unfortunately all these bands that once were are coming to end. Music will never be the same but the music will never go away.

I'd missed that bit before, Driven.

Having been lucky enough to see The Wall Live, and Roger's last London ITF show, I'd say you were right about there as far as PF spectacle goes.

The lights and staging and tableux of ITF were very much in the Pink Floyd vein of son et lumiere leading me to the firm conclusion that Roger was the ideas man in that respect in addition to the bulk of PF lyric writing.

Welcome, HexOnxOnx.

Re: Tour 2003/2004?

Although I can't boast to have been to a floyd concert or a rog or dave gig, but I would have to say if i had the choice of concert to go to it would have to have been The Wall Live in Berlin, the timing, location and scale make it something special.
Although theres not really a chance of floyd touring again, there is definitely no chance of something like that happening again.

And so depression sets in yet again...
