| Re: greatest drummers Bill Bruford. Not that I think that he is "better" than the others, it's just a question of styles and I particularly like his. Two of my favourite drumming moments are the beginning of "Heart of the Sunrise" and the beginning of "Indiscipline" (above all the live versions). He shows you how many different timings you can play with even if the band is just playing in 4/4. Amazing! |

My top 4 for modern drummers would be: -Gene Holgan (Strapping Young Lad) -Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) -Mike Portony (Dream Theater) -Dino Campanella (dredg) ...in no defined order, though Holgan is probably #1. I've also had the good fortune to see all of them, except Portnoy, over the summer. |
