Greatest SOLO Hits

How would a Greatest Hits look if you were to combine the best songs from all Pink Floyd's members solo albums?

I was thinking about burning a similar compilation CD myself, actually.

A tentative tracklisting could be the following:

Terrapin
Dominoes
Raise My Rent
Short And Sweet
Waves
Against The Odds
Every Stranger's Eyes
Murder
Amused To Death
Three Wishes
Watching TV
Night Of A Thousand Furry Toys
Sweet July
Breakthrough

Great idea eh yannis? I don't want to make one yet because I only have heard Wet Dream, Broken China, The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, Barrett and The Madcap Laughs

Yes, I think I'll try and put these tracks into my HD and then I'll see if it works. If you are into solo albums, anyway, you need Amused To Death and David Gilmour.

Yeah not a bad idea.

I haven't heard Wet Dream, Radio Kaos, any of Nick Mason's shit or Syd Barret's stuff so I can't really pick the best.

My listing would be KINDA similar to Mad Yannis though.

Hey, Mad Yannis:

Is there room for 'Near the End' on your 'best of solo stuff' CD? I love the double-tracked acoustic guitar solo at the end and how Gilmour brings up the electric overlaying the acoustic before playing one of his pure screaming notes that only he can do. Sheer perfection. And not a bad lyric for someone who professes he can't write lyrics:

"Thinking that we're getting older and wiser
When we're just getting old."

The only solo albums i have are About Face and Pros and Cons, though i do have other solo tracks ive downloaded. My fav track that ive heard has to be Love On The Air, though i have to agree with terminalfrost that Near the End is truly excellent.

Mate, you have really two of the very worst solo efforts! Go for Broken China, Amused To Death, Wet Dream or David Gilmour!

BTW, terminalfrost, Near The End is not half bad, one of the few good tracks in AF in fact I think, but it's not one of my favourites anyway.

Hey everybody. This is my first post at this forum. I really look forward to discuss Pink Floyd with you all. So why not just begin...

Why do you think About Face and Pros and Cons are some of the worst solo-albums.
I think About Face is great. It really contains a lot of good song - such as: Murder, Love On The Air, Blue Light, Cruice and as you say yourselves The End. I think it's much better than "David Gilmour" (that's just my opinion)
Allso I think The Pros And Cons is great album. It's maybe one of the best work Roger ever have made. The songs are wonderful and the sound is beutifull. And then it's really cool that Clapton is on the Guitar - incredibly work - for example at the end of Sexual Revolution.
But still I agree with you that "violetvision" needs to have Broken China and Amused To Death.

To each their one, I suppose. You ask why: I think P&C is a poor (and boring) rehashing of melodies already heard on The Wall, and Clapton's guitar work and a couple of good tracks cannot redeem it. As for AF I think it suffers a terrible production (that orchestra is awful, God!) and apart from 3 or 4 good/decent songs it has some really terrible tunes. Anyway, again, to each their one.

I've only heard The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, and and I really didn't like it much at all, cuz i think that Waters focused to much on the lyrics and not on the music. He seems to do that a lot, and I don't really like it much.
