Trigger-Happy TV - a British Cult TV show rather similar to a hybrid of Jackass and Candid Camera, but starring Dom Joly.

Brilliant.

I love it.

Cheers!

I get the biggest kick out of when he appears out of nowhere shouting into the giant cell-phone. "HELLO?! HELLO?! WHAT?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! YOU'RE CRACKING UP!"

Re: No Topic

Just this past year. It's a joke. He makes fun of how rude people are on cell phones by being even ruder. Having an over-sized cell phone just adds to the joke. "WHAT?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! WHAT?! I'M NOT SHOUTING! I'VE GOT YOU ON THE HANDS FREE! I SAID HANDS FREE! I'LL HAVE TO CALL YOU BACK, I'M PLAYING SQUASH! NO, SQUASH!"

How do you know about that if you live in the US?

I know someone from East Grinstead. Wow.

Re: No Topic

The one where he gets in the pest controller to get rid of rats cracks me up every time, the guy goes into the room and there's someone dressed in a rat costume sat on the couch drinking beer and watching tv.

Because when I stayed in the UK last year, my friend Phil (you may find that many of my stories regarding this trip will begin with "my friend Phil") showed me the tapes he'd got of the show. See?

We spent a whole afternoon watching them and eating corn chips and salsa. And chocolate.

And now the show airs on Comedy Central in the US, so I've got my friends over here watching it as well.

And thanks to this show, whenever I hear a particular mobile-phone tone, I burst out laughing and/or yell "HELLO!!" Oh, the looks I get from people...

The one that Dr. Cheese mentioned gets me every time, too. The rat sitting on the sofa...reading the paper, having a drink...and Dom asks the pest control guy "So, what do you reckon? Can you shift it?" and the "rat" (it's a strangely realistic costume, actually) looks at the guy for a moment...

Terrific!

Cheers!

Re: No Topic

Ok. Thanks!

Its been a while since I've seen it so I can't remember the acts very well.

I liked it though when Dom Joly appeared at the Brits a few years ago with the giant phone.

Re: No Topic

Btw, interesting to hear that video clips of PF will be played at Maine Road after Southampton, holders of the FA cup win 4 - 0 by a hat-trick from 1st choice England centre forward James Beattie.

Also nice to hear RW and NM will be giving interviews at the Rock n' Roll hall of fame on April 1st

Re: No Topic

You'd love the monsoon. From where I stayed for 10 years... it starts to rain and it rains NONSTOP (not even a minute) for two months.... with the occasional gale-force wind.
