scream thy last scream 7"

i just bought a strange pink floyd-single countaining the unreleased (or at least i thought they were unreleased) tracks Scream thy last scream and Vegetable Man
i paid 20 $ but the seller was very angry because he told me that he bought it for 30 $ - appears to be a rare bootleg
anybody knows more about this ?

Aha!

I saw and bid on this 45 on eBay. It is definitely a boot, as the single was never officially released, and apparently the Floyd rejected the idea of including these rare tracks as bonuses on the 'Shine On' box set.

How is the sound quality? I have the songs already on my vinyl 'Unforgotten Hero' LP and a couple of boot cds, but the quality never gets past a 6 out of 10. Always a little flat.

Re: scream thy last scream 7"

sound quality is ok i must say
sounds a little scratchy - but no wonder - it's nearly 40 years old
but apart from that it's really good studio-quality

Re: scream thy last scream 7"

ehrm...
nothing - there's nothing written on it
there's a picture of pink floyd on the cover with the words "Syd Barret" - not pink floyd
on the vinyl there's a picture of Johann Sebastian Bach (I believe it's him) on both sides

Look on the vinyl itself. Between the center label and the song...are there any etchings?

Re: scream thy last scream 7"

just found something:
45-156-1-A (written on scream-side)
45-156-1B (written on vegetable man-side)

Re: scream thy last scream 7"

Cool, Alf, thanks. I have a knowledge of (vinyl) bootleg companies, and sometimes there are clues/indications as to which 'company' released a given title, but that one is pretty obscure. Sounds like an internal code to make sure they stuck the labels on the correct side.

I have a Floyd bootleg, circa 1975, that has Morse Code etched onto the vinyl that translates to "Underground albums are the best kind". It's on a title called "Take Linda Surfin'". That's one of the funnier ones.

sweet

i bought a fullsize LP of Syd Barrett on ebay called 'still laughing.' its rare versions of a few of his songs, but its not rare. still a good buy for 21 dollars though. the label on the vinyl says 'Roger Keith: Wouldnt You Miss Me At All?' and 'Roger Keith Music Copyright LTD' under it. definately a bootleg, no barcode or anything. such a prize to me. oh and my neighbor found the 'money/any colour...' 7" in his basement the other day and gave it to me. very nice indeed.
