I think that her attitude towards new members is fine.

Re: Anyone have a Floyd tattoo?

Actually, I don't remember her using the term "golden era" but I may be wrong.

She does have a point though. Many of us only occasion here occasionally.

Re: Anyone have a Floyd tattoo?

She did use the term ''golden age'' but I can't remember where exactly. At the same time she treated the board like it was a pile of shit these days. ''This site is obviously dead'' she said, I failed to see it. The forum has been active the whole time, and the income of new members kept going like it's supposed to. All in all, that seems pretty alive if you ask me. Why is it obviously dead then? I fail to see both the death and the reason why it would be obvious. She came a while ago to grace us all with her return, made a thread about herself in which the shitty attitude was soon to be found.

In the first post she actually came with the great idea of letting uber up his own arse prick Organ Grinder return. She claims it might influence the site and make it better, before OG left he was doing the same thing as her and that's treating the site like shit. I personally don't believe in old time members that do nothing but bitch about how it all ''went to shit'' and how everything used to better ''in the old days''. I think that bullshit rant should not be tolerated, it doesn't give a good impression when new members get confronted with someone declaring the site they just joined ''obviously dead'' and rambling on about the old days and how amazing it all was once.

If you dislike the site simply don't visit it anymore, it's easy. Piss off forever or stop the bullshit, the rant can not go on any longer. It's a fucking cliche actually, somewhat reminds me of old people talking about their youth and how it was all so much better back then. Times change, nothing you can do about it. New members come while old members go, it's only natural that happens. Yet PW comes and acts like this site is in a dying state, there is absolutely nothing unusual or unhealthy going on with this forum. For her the fun no longer exists, the site naturally changed in a normal way. She couldn't handle it, the old buddies that left and the new faces that came in. And then she also thought the discussion quality wasn't good anymore or something. The site no longer appealed to her personal wishes and apparently that means the whole site is ''dead'' etc etc. What happened and still happens to APFFN is a natural way of change. New members show up every day, it is active enough to not be called inactive let alone dead. in the meantime old members sometimes leave, you can't force them to stay.

I reckon the so called ''golden age'' was a time where the site didn't exist very long but did have a certain group of regular members.(the old time members) New members didn't show up as often as they do now, therefor the group of members really got to know each other very well and things were much more personal. There hadn't been that much threads and discussion so it was not hard to be original and not unusual for an original and fun thread to appear. But then the site started to grow and grow, and grow. It got bigger, it got busier etc. That's when slowly the fun was dying for PW, she couldn't handle the succes of the site and the changes that it brought. The cozy group of first time members that once was inevitably fell apart, it could have never lasted forever anyway. The amount of threads grew and grew and that also changed the site, as more and more threads appeared their so called ''quality'' started to drop.

In the end I can only conclude PW just couldn't accept the inevitable changes the site was going through at the time. She couldn't accept the fact it got so big and the changes that brought. They were all completely natural changes however and it's really something all fora go through once they become bigger. It's also not unusual old time members feel uncomfortable about this. It's just a case of letting the past go and accepting the future as it is. PW failed and still fails to do that and really wanted the forum to stay the way it was back then. The small and cozy group of regular posters that managed to find the site as one of the first and became great friends, PW still can't accept it had to end.

Re: Anyone have a Floyd tattoo?

Dear Sir,
As a retired Colonel in her Majesties Bengal lancers (gawd bless 'er), I take strong issue with the comments on this thread. In my days things weren't like that. You had to show respect to your elders or else you got a damn good thrashing . That's what's wrong with the country today, no respect for the elders and not enough good thrashings (or cold showers for that matter....or National Service....six months in the army ..that'd do 'em some good...wash shave and a haircut....I blame that Elvis chappie)...in my day you could dine at the Ritz for sixpence, get a handsome cab back home for pennies, and he (the driver) would tug his forelock in appreciation I might add. People knew their place. A young Victoria was on the throne ( gawd bless 'er) and the AA men still saluted you. Now that's showing respect. It was a Golden Age indeed, most of the map was in red, which depicted the British Empire. Now in my day, there was very few of these horseless carriages, people would walk in front with a red flag to let you know they were coming..and if they didn't... you gave then a damn good thrashing for not showing respect. In fact I think I'll go and flog my gamekeeper ( Mellors) as he looks in need of a damn good thashing for not showing respect to his elders!

yours rantingly

Wow, you must be extremely bored to go through all this, creating ignorant ass assumptions about what I think and feel about this place. I'm not going to waste any of MY TIME, dignifying this post with a lengthy response. Quite simply, you're being an idiot. What's even more funny is the PMs I have in my inbox in regards to the manner in which you handled this whole situation. Brilliant one you are, eh? Now do us both a favor and take this load of bullshit and shove it back in that weak and narrow mind of yours.

Re: Anyone have a Floyd tattoo?

I really don't want to turn this into more than it is, but why didn't Deranged just tell PW in PM all that he publicly stated here. Furthermore, if anybody else had made a duplicate thread, everyone would have just said "DDT" like they always do and the thread would have either been merged or closed. No diatribes on a person's attitude or lengthy lectures not concerning the thread in question.

I can't say much else about PW's behavior, I must have missed it, I rarely (except for the past few weeks) frequent this site, but what ever she did in the past should have been addressed in the past.

Now, can we please move on?

By the way, how are ya Pearly?

All this anger and negativity, I'm not into that myself. Especially not on the internet, especially not about something unimportant like this. I was anything but bored at the time of writing, it was a matter of the circumstances at that time. I am normally not able to write such long rants let alone about something like this, but my brain happened to be on full performance and you managed to set it off. Some people find themselves making random drawings all night long, a mate spent a night making his own Trivial Pursuit out of cardboard and paper. He doesn't even like to play it, It's when you find yourself at a creative peak and it just has to come out one way or the other.

I prefer to call them observations rather than assumptions and they are anything but ''ignorant ass''. They are based on the way you present yourself and the negative vibrations you keep spreading, it's not hard to draw a conclusion out of that. Perhaps I was indeed being an idiot at that time yes, but you are not able to make that judgement with the information you have. I am very happy for you having some action in your inbox. Incidentally, I had some myself from people saying they agree with what I say.

You are a mean person, your last post alone proves that. You make random insulting judgements which you simply don't have the information for. You call me idiot, you refer to my intelligence in a sarcastic manner. Finally you label my entire post as a ''load of bullshit'' which it clearly isn't and add that I have a weak and narrow mind. Maybe I do, but you have no idea who are what I am and therefor you are unable to make such judgements. Your judgements often appear to be totally random, it's a bit like you saying this site is ''obviously dead''.

I don't have any tattoos. I'm afraid I won't be satisfied with whatever I decide...so it remains forever on the "one day" list.

I once suggested the fucking flower animatons from The Wall might make a good tattoo, and Not Now John said he thought it was a good idea...don't know if he ever took it any further.
