Final Message Why? Because I was insulted in the name of humour by a certain person (you know who you are) and it would be very painful for me to come back given this person's prevalence on this forum. I still haven't forgiven you and never will because you keep on doing it. There have been some nice people on this forum though but unfortunately there is very much a culture of humour that is derogatory IMO and I can only take so much of it. Goodbye then. I would say more (with far more virulence) but I want this parting to be relatively amicable so I'll stop here. "If you tolerate this, your dignity will be next."

This is just sad. I think I've missed the quarrel so I really don't know... but what I can say is that this is a defeat for the entire community. I, for one, will miss your posts, mate. Hope to see you again.

Hmmm.....come now Red Bull. It's not fashionable to make claims of departure, when perhaps, you're frolicking through the forums in disguise...A little unfair wouldn't you say? Especially to those who have apologized to you? Something to think about.

I'm afraid he had to go for his sanity (I live with this person BTW). He isn't on the forum in disguise. The only link to him is through my presence here and thats it. He only came back for that and to check his PMs. I can honestly say that. I know you apologised englar but his feelings have been hurt and it'll take more than that to recover the damage done. From this point, its really up to him to forgive you and he has to do that in his own time.

Ahh...so I see...this is why I said perhaps. Well hopefully Red Bull can find it in his heart to forgive. And if not, then he'll be missed I'm sure.

Actually I am quite glad someone else did the dirty work. He was really getting on my nerves. The harsh words I wanted to say to him were not for humor's sake.

Poor Baby I think if everyone dropped off the Forum because they were insulted we'd have a pretty small membership here. This is definitely not the Forum for the sensitive emotional type. WAAAHHHHHH please don't hurt my feelings. Please?

I hope I don't come off sound insensitive here, but I need to say this. This is a forum that can be accessed by millions world wide. As there are more than a few assholes in the world, there are bound to be some that find their way to public forums. To be so sensitive to what some wanker has to say on this board is a little much IMO. There is a saying in sales I have always liked and it applies here. Some will, some won't, so what...NEXT! It goes the same way with people who like you or don't like you. Agree with you or disagree with you. Make an enemy out of you or a friend out of you. Some will (like you), some won't (like you), so what...NEXT! Frankly threads like this have always struck me as a bit odd. I always picture some lonely guy in front of his computer crying out for attention. Surely (I think to myself) this person can't be that upset about what some faceless poster on another computer somewhere has said. Post away and ignore those you feel attack you or aren't posting in the same spirit you post with and/or in. Barring that...if you still want to pick up your football and go home, Linus, then I guess that's your prerogative. I always tend to doubt the person actually will though, especially when they post their intention publicly. Suck it up and move on. Far less stressful and far less chance of feeling like an ass when you come to your senses and decide to continue posting.

Maybe it's none of my business, but if someone offers an apology for something they said, then I think it should be accepted...then whatever the point of contention was should be forgotten about as soon as possible. Don't have such a thin skin, R.B., it is not good to hold grudges. Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and move on...forgiveness is a good thing...for example, if I had forsaken everyone who has pissed me off, well, I wouldn't have any friends at all. Further, I must agree with 'DR. Cheese', generally speaking, no malice was intended that I know of, but even if there was...well, that's what apologies are all about. I don't think anyone really wants to see you leave the board, as you offer a unique perspective/philosophy...oh, yeah, and a sense of humour. So, it is my opinion you should take the apology and move on (forget it ever happened). ps: dignity is a overrated myth. Last edited by Brick Lowrider; 12-05-2002 at 05:07 PM.
