Question can somebody help me out a bit here?

in the album The Division Bell, the last track -High Hopes_ after the song and music end,the track goes on untill you can hear 2 people talkin. From the net have discovered the people talking and what they are saying. This is it:
-Steve O'Rourke: Hello?
-Charlie: Yeah...
-SO'R: Is that Charlie?
-C: Yes.
-SO'R: Hello Charlie.
-C: [mumbles something and hangs up]
-SO'R: Great! [hangs up]
I am a bit confused here.i have no idea who these 2 persons are,and what they are talking about.can somebody answer me please?

Re: can somebody help me out a bit here?

Steve O'Rourke is Pink Floyd's manager and Charlie is Polly Samson's son, a little kid at that time.

BTW Polly Samson is David Gilmour's wife.

On the CD, the "Charlie" segment starts @ 8:18 and runs thru 8:28. The tolling bells at the end of the song finally fade out at about 7:53, so there is a 25-second-long silence.

Dave went on to adopt Charlie, of course; more info about Dave's family can be found in the first 5 or so pages of this thread:
