GeraldTheMouse: The Avatar We Love to Hate

In recent hours, it has come to my attention that I am utterly despised by everyone on this forum. Various personages (who shall remain unnamed) have remarked as to the banality of my posts, the stupidity of my avatar, the irrelevance of my words, and the general unwelcomeness of my presence. Something about this seems, to me, to be directly opposite 'good.' Now, I do recall a certain previous board member who made similar remarks and later explained that they were in jest-- however, I get the vibe that this is not the case here. It is not to my general liking to be hated. Heretofore, I present the case to you, my adoring public: Who wants me to leave the board? Who wants me to shut the **** up? Who would like to sodomize me with a rusty leaf rake? I plan to take any and all responses seriously, so please answer considerately. Unless you're Dr Cheese, in which case I will assume sarcasm and believe the polar opposite. Anyhow, please let me know, in all honesty. I don't wish to be a burden on anyone.

I don't think you're a burden gerald. I think you sometimes get a bit over the top but this is coming from one who has been really sort of afraid to post. Just let it roll off your back like water off a duck.

Who cares what anyone thinks of you? It's a message board. Post for your enjoyment and leave when it's no longer enjoyable. Worrying about what a bunch of faceless posters in cyberland think of you is pointless.

As for my opinion of you in the brief time I have been here...it was good until this thread where you have invited a pity party to be held in your honour, but you're a solid enough poster that I'm sure you'll have gained my respect back before long.

I was in no way attempting to invite a pity party for myself or anyone closely resembling me, nor was I trying to gauge my popularity. I don't frankly care what negative thoughts others on this board have about me, but instead I was attempting to be respectful to the wishes of others so as to keep myself away from Asshole Status. If such actions have lost your respect, then quite frankly I'm not sure I miss it.

I read my opening post again. Oddly enough, the words I typed the first time are still there, and they still don't announce a party of any sort. I'm not one of those highly literary types like you, so I am unable to put messages between the lines--- thus, I was forced to write everything I was thinking without hiding any of it. As previously stated, I wish to be respectful to others if I am indeed unwelcome. You'll recall a certain Talking Head could have saved quite a bit of grief if he had gone about things this way.

Okay, I apologize then. I guess I read it as being yet another "no one likes me, should I pick up my ball and go home" post. There are many on boards like this and I find them to be rather ridiculous.
