Madcap Laughs, aside from being a douche bag, your an alright guy. But trust me, staying on-topic isn't going to happen, most of the time. Most of what can be said, has been said. So it only seems natural for those of us without lives to go on and just become nuyisances to the newbies. You'll get used to it, and eventually join in.


By the way, in case you haven't caught on yet, the douche bag comment was total jest.

In comparison to TW and DSOTM, WYWH is not really overrated. Although most fans seem to say this is a brilliant album, the ones I have met tend to put DSOTM before WYWH. Of course that's just them. I think it is almost possible to say IMO that WYWH marked the falling apart of the band proper, as Rog gained control afterwards.

About GV: Could he be one of convag's cronies?

Loup, I'm thinking no. GV has the spelling and grammar skills which were lacking in the convag/hoodlum department. The debate in general didn't seem to chime that way. Thanks for keeping an eye out though.

WYWH isn't actually the step forward that DSOTM was. DSOTM stands tall as a defining pinacle of art-rock, whereas WYWH is a little more generic and land-based. It doesn't mean that it's a bad album, just a little less avant garde as it could have been.

And Roger didn't sing becuase he couldn't hit the high notes because his voice was ****ed (and pretty shit, naturally anyway).

I'd gather that Animals is actually better for repeat listens. I mean DSOTM was the pinnacle, and musically WYWH was almost as good. But I tired of WYWH long before I tired of DSOTM. And Animals, while not being the masterpeice that DSOTM was, still has a place in my library.

WYWH overated ? I don't think so. I guess if you had relatively recently gotten into the 'Floyd, you may be have the 'luxury' of weighing its merits against subsequent recordings, but when WYWH was released, it was much anticipated and appreciated for its obvious charm (and contrast to DSOTM). However, I understand that this opinion has already been expressed
