Favorite Era?

What is your favorite era? Choosing by the 4 given on the forum menu, pick an era. Also, which album do you like best from your favorite era? What does this album mean to you?

Mine is the era after Syd left, between More and Wish You Were Here. Favorite album being a tie between OBC and Meddle. That is one hard tie to break for me.

Re: Favorite Era?

My favourite era is the 70s because my fav album, Meddle was recorded then. The album that means the most to me, though, is WYWH because it is so relevant to my present circumstances.

Re: Favorite Era?

By the forum's defintition of eras, most definetely the "after syd barrett" era. My most favorite album is definitely Meddle, followed by Dark Side or Atom Heart Mother.
Fav song? echoes

What's the deal with meddle? Everyone on here thinks it's the Holy Grail, I think that album blows except for One of These Days...

My favorite era is the "Waters domination era" except for The Final Cut....my 2 fav are Animals and The Wall

I agree completely.
Imo "One of These Days" is one of the most interesting things PF have ever done. "A Pillow of Winds" is nothing particular and a bit boring, "Fearless" and "San Tropez" add nothing, "Seamus" is a pretty funny divertissement and "Echoes" is just a sort of pet-progressive, atmospheric and well produced but way less interesting than ASoS.

Each era has it's own merits and failings, I have no particular favourite.

Re: Favorite Era?

Hard to say what my favorite era was, I guess I will have to go with Post-Syd Pre-Waters, Meddle is holy grail.
