I should have read the whole discussion here, since in this thread we have one of the few meaningful posts you've ever written.

I am also disturbed that you are sexually attracted to pandas. I'm glad I'm not.

I probably have that same book. (Let Me Take You Down -by Jack Jones)

Shane is right, according to Mr. Jones. Chapman was bitter about Lennon's apparent abandonment of the 60's "revolutionary ideals".

Chapman was a huge Fan of Todd Rundgren, who was outspokenly and scathingly critical of John Lennon for his "hypocrisy". (The two openly hated each other, and traded poison pen letters in the media).

Chapman appointed himself Rundgren's avenging angel. This, somehow coupled with Chapman's twisted fantasy about being Holden Caulfield, justified in his own mind the execution of Lennon.

Gerald is right. The biggest tragedy of all was not getting Yoko.

I wonder if Jim diddn't die would the doors be as popular. His death somehow (IMO) made the music more special. Like he died for the cause of music. After Pink Floyd the doors are on my #2 pedestal.

Thorin - I got a fever and the only cure is more cowbell. hehe

Hey PW, have you got any of the new releases from Bright Midnight Records (The doors new label)? The Aquarius shows are excellent, especially the "backstage and dangerous" cd's. The version they do of "build me a woman" is very entertaining.
