Idols

Well, I was just wondering about the people you guys look up to. I mean it could be anything from childhood comic charecters (by this it also means you could expand it to mythological etc.), historical figures to rockstars So what say fellow Floyd (and other band) fans?

Me? Well, I'd say something like :

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (The IRON man of India), Abe Lincoln, Siegfried, Batman...

So, hints enough?

I look up to Steinbeck, even though my writing style is a thousand miles away from his, I love his words and everytime I read one of his books I am blown away...
...except for that book of Shitotry he put out (poetry) the man can't write poetry worth Shite, but he is a good novelist and short story writer

Growing up, Spiderman was always a personal hero of mine. He was a smartass that fought crime. But his personal life was not always perfect. He had money and girl troubles. Looking back on it, he was responsible for my love of reading.

Simon, as far as presidents go, Abe Lincoln is really overrated.

I'm quite tall so I very rarely have to look up to anyone.

I would look up to people but half the time I'm looking straight at them or down.

My idols are on complete opposites of the spectrum. I look up to Suzanne Somers because she's a beautiful, bright, funny woman... and I also look up to Marge Piercy, who's a feminist poet. She does brilliant work! I kind of average the two together to get a "super" role model.

That's the funnist thing I've seen on the board......great one In The Flesh. You really know how to turn the Funny Knob on when you need to

I have always looked up to celebrities who handle themselves with class, as a youngen it was more about Sports Stars or musicians, but to be honest my newest idol would have to be the one and only Dr. Cheese
