| I like "groovy" sax riffs, and "groovy" Bass riffs, but admit I haven't even heard of "Acid Jazz". I will have to research this topic more before I form a opinion. But, (so far) As a whole, I can only take jazz in short bursts, followed by long periods of non-jazz. There are some jazz bands around here, and they are good at what they do, but jazz, even though it is technically difficult to play, bores me to tears, in general. Jazz drummers, on the other hand, are some of the best drummers around, because they can handle any weird timing signature you can throw at them, and don't try and turn every song into a heavy metal tune. Every drummer should have at least 3 "gears". Jeff Beck does some jazz stuff that I can stand to listen to, but that's more of a rock/jazz fusion type deal. |

| Well I will admit that Jazz is an aquired taste but I finding it really interesting, seeing as there are so many branches of it. Acid Jazz came out of the underground club scene in the late seventies early eighties in the really big cities like London and New York. They say that people were getting bored of the disco tunes and new interesting jazz was hard to coem by in those days so Jazz bands fused the two together and it became hugely popular around the club scene and eventually became a type of music onto itself, Acid Jazz cheers |
