I'm not a big Genesis fan, they always seemed a bit fey and whimsical to me and I can't stand Phil bloody slaphead Collins! What a tosser.

Well actually it is a single CD album but I just recently found out it was orginally two records. And i'm not so fond of Phil Collins ethier, the best years were with Peter Gabriel.

I suppose so, especially if you like your lead singers to dress up as strange vegetables.

Re: Genesis fans?

Yep.
For the foxtrot tour he borrowed his wife's dress and had a pink dress on with a fox mask.

Re: Genesis fans?

Well I suppose they had to do something to distract the audience from the music.

So, really, Tommy was the first 'two-disc concept record', according to dates.

Just thought you'd like to know,

You are both wrong, the FIRST was a little known release called "SF Sorrow" by the Brit grp The Pretty Things.

Re: Genesis fans?

I don't have any post-Gabriel stuff, and I'm just expanding the collection. I gotta get Selling England By The Pound and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway very soon. From what have I heard until now, there are only a few songs I actually didn't like, mostly the short ones on Nursery Cryme, where Musical Box, Fountain Of Salmacis and Return Of The Giant Hogweed are clearly dominating.

Thanks for the pics YS8! This one is a classic: enjoy

Even though Gabriel left, some of the post-gabriel stuff is excellent. I rate A Trick Of The Tail higher than Nursery Crime, Duke and anything before it is great if you like genesis. Be sure to check out A Trick Of The Tail and Wind And Whutering from the post- gabriel era at least.
