Yeah, Edwin gets better with each release. He does some awesome stuff on "In Absentia" (their latest release). Just listen to ".3" or "Strip The Soul" and you'll see what I mean.

I actually was listening to .3 when I made that post

I've got to try and get my hands on earlier releases...

"Signify" and "Voyage 34" are fairly easy to get, and this year is going to be awesome for PT. Not only are they releasing a new album in March (I'm VERY psyched!), but they are re-releasing "Stupid Dream" and "Lightbulb Sun" in 5.1. It'll be very awesome.

In case you haven't heard about their upcoming release, check out www.deadwing.com

Re: Best Bassist?

John Entwistle is THE reason I purchased a bass guitar and started attempting to teach myself to play. In my opinion, he's incredibly brilliant (My Generation bass solo, anyone?), and quite underrated as well.

Just my $0.02,

Re: Best Bassist?

Entwistle for sure.. I still stand by Flea, who is a god among men in my opinion. Also, the dude from Tool (forget his name now) and of course Juan from The Mars Volta.. just listen to Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus and you'll know what I mean. Also he's amazing live, he does complete justice to Flea's bass break down in Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt.
