| OK peoplez, to avoid filling up the American Gun Nuts thread with nonsense of this type, i decided to start a new thread like the wonderful darksideofoz suggested! So everyone here you can share weird or strange or funny or just plain interesting tales about cats, and you can make jokes involving cats, etc. anything is open basically. And halohailer now you can finish your story...if the mods and other important people allow it...

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats Did anyone hear about how they were trying to legalize cat hunting in Wisconsin? Thats crazy! I hope it doesn't overlap with elk season..

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats Dunno about cat hunting... But I could get into dog-fishing from the back of a large convertible. Salmon rod, a cooler full of steak (bait) and beer, that's the life.

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats Yeah, I'm from Wisconsin. Apparently we've been experiencing a huge wave of redneck immigration and I really hope it stops. To Jeff Foxworthy and all his cronies: Have fun throwing your sticks to you dogs, because that's all those shallow animals do. If you want to know my take on cats vs. dogs, watch Meet the Parents. |

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats Cats are cool. But I'm more of a dog person. I know feral cats can be a problem, but I couldn't shoot one.

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats As you all know I love cats and dogs and rabbits and birds etc. etc. etc. I even saved a bird today. I'ts kinda funny I think I'm one of those hippies that go around to people and say stuff like,"save the trees, man" or, "share the love, man" or,"dude, man" I confess I'm a treehugger. You know some trees are actually quite soft.

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats and i hate vegitarians that see animals as equal with humans....and then say god made everything equal......while Genesis clearly states otherwise. but that's off topic. anyway, i live in Wisconsin and i think cat hunting would be a disgrace. i have two cats, so im sypathetic to their side (but do they have one?). I understand feral cats are a problem, but lets say your pet cat runs away. The next day, you find it in the middle of the street prctically cut in half by a 12 guage. How do you feel? Its just wrong.

agreed (although im a completely un-religous anti-extremist religous person, person), but i do believe that when animals are killed for whatever reason it should be made as painless as possible and the time period before they are killed they should be treated well and have good conditions of life before their death.

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats I love cats personally, but I have had to kill some strays that were diseased. It's not like a bunch of Wisconsin folks are sitting around on their porches, in their underwear, shooting cats. That's what squirrels are for (I've actually got a good caddyshack like story about squirrels... but I still haven't recovered enough to tell it). |

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats what kind of sick person sits on the porch and shoots squirrels? I've just made about 2,000 new enimies.

| Re: The Cat Thread, with possibilities of hunting stories involving cats I know what a danger feral cats can be to housecats It is true that sometime you just can't tell what is a feral cat and what isn't. Picture this: An old lady maybe in her 80's, husband passes away about 10 years ago. And her family never comes to visit. Now she has a cat which was a final B-day gift from her husband before he died. She lives in Wisconsin where hunting cats was just legalized (BTW TOTALLY against it) She and this cat grow together and lays on her lap all day everyday. That cat is the only friend she has, the only living thing in the world that loves her. One day she lets her cat out for a little exercise. Some redneck with a cat hunting license see's it running around by itself and shoots it. It is completely torn apart and laying in the street. This redneck doesn't bother to pick it up and goes on hunting. (Also no offense to any rednecks) It's dark now and the old lady is feeling alone and wants her cats company. So she opens the door and calls to it. But where is it it's not coming? The old lady walks outside and finds her cat torn in half laying in a ditch in the road. So she gets down on her knees and cries. What will she do with her life now? There is no one to love her. There is no one to keep her company. There is no one to remind her of her husband who was taken from her. She is alone. Lost. And there is no one to guide her.
