Did you mean 'senior citizen' or seasoned citizen? (more pickled than seasoned I would say) I was only joking about the false teeth though! Mind you my arthritis is terrible these days, the doc puts it down to sitting in mud filled fields listening to wierd and wonderful music in my teens.

Re: New Members Extravaganza!

Hello Floyd-folk. I used to poke around this site every now and then about two, three years ago, posted as MemphisFloyd. Then I went to work on a cruise ship for a bit and was away from computers for a long, long time. Now I'm back and plan on dropping in again. Sadly I have no idea what my old password is, nor do I use the same email address I used to, so I can't retrieve my password. Thus I am now MemphisPhloyd!

Kinda like when Optimus Prime comes back as Rodimus Prime in Transformers, eh?

Anyway, hi folks. I'm a 24-year-old Floyd worshipper from Tennessee, USA. Glad to meet you !

Re: New Members Extravaganza!

Ah, the obligatory Elvis reference! I'm a casual Elvis fan, if you must know. I bought that album they put out two years ago of all of his number 1 hits. But I'm certainly not an Elvis fan like the people who visit Graceland, his old home. One year, for shits and giggles, a friend and I attended the Elvis Candlelight Vigil. Every year on the anniversary of his death, THOUSANDS of fans flock to Memphis and come to Graceland. On the night of the anniversary, they line up in order to pass by his grave and light their candle from an undying flame that's there. It's quite the site, numerous people decked out in sequins and jumpsuits, plus impersanators galore. It was quite the scene!

And, no, I don't own a jumpsuit.

Re: New Members Extravaganza!

doesn't say the date or name of interviewer that I could see, but anyway...

http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip...djginterv.html

Q: When you first saw or heard Elvis Presley, what'd you think?

DG: Absolutely brilliant! I mean, my first, first record I ever bought was "Rock Around The Clock," Bill Haley. The second was "Jailhouse Rock." Elvis, in his very early years, was staggering. He went down hill a little bit...I suppose, under the influence of the good colonel. I don't know what went wrong, but it certainly did.

Re: New Members Extravaganza!

Yo Donny, my tongue was firmly in my cheek when I made the (obligatory) reference to Elvis. As someone who is married to an Elvis fan/nut I have no great like or dislike for the man. Not a patch on Floyd! My wife has gone to Graceland a couple of times, and stood in line with her candle. Don't ask me why, but hey, if she's happy, what the hell? Like you I dont own a jumpsuit, but my wife has suggested we spice up our love life by me wearing one before going to bed. I put my foot down on that one. I'll stick to wearing a snorkel and flippers like everyone else!

Re: New Members Extravaganza!

Eddy, Get the jumpsuit, mate, because if you continue depriving your loved-one of that pleasure, she just might find someone more forthcoming.

My younger brother had a serious hero thing going with all thing's "The King" when he was a child. He's threatened fratricide if I should ever reveal it now he's an adult.

Oh hell!

Re: New Members Extravaganza!

No sweat on the jumpsuit score BoaB, I have the same physique as the King ( later years I might add) and I do a damn good rendition of 'hunka burnin' love' whilst in the sack. Mrs E seems contented with that. Has your brother got over his 'King' phase? I keep hoping Mrs E will, but many years down the line she is still infatuated.

Tell her he was a good pub singer, I tend to find that Elvis fans like it when you point that out to them.
