Best live band?

This is hard but for me it has to be INXS. Virtually every song they have performed is better live compared the studio versions.

I voted for Floyd, you dont get visual stimulation from the albums like you do live!

Next would be the Dead, you cant keep from smiling and be bopin' to the beat.

Madcap, you would rather see a INXS show than a Floyd show?

Madcap, does anyone who lives outside of Australia even know about Midnight Oil?

Yes I would, with Michael Hutchence that is! Btw. Why didn't you pick Zappa? He would be second for me.

I think so. Even though they just broke up and don't sell that many records anymore. I saw them three times in the past 14 months here in town and they would definitely be in my top 5 live band list. They blew me away!

I voted for Floyd, although I would much love to see Hendrix live, he was so much more amazing live than he was in studio. He was so much more innovative on the spot.

I hate INXS. Ok, maybe not hate, but I certainly don't think much of them.

I Love Midnight Oil though. And yes I agree Madcap they are great live!

Hey Madcap, do you like Icehouse?

I don't like Icehouse. You should give INXS a chance. It's common knowledge amongst INXS fans that you have to see them live to really GET them.

Allright...i'll give INXS a chance if you give Icehouse a chance.

I quite like "Never tear us apart", and "Devil Inside" is not bad, amongst maybe a few others. It's just a lot of their stuff seems to lack any real rhythm and seems kind of...dull. I've never really paid much attention to them though so...*shrug*.

This poll is a joke, isn't it? Pink Floyd; Pink Floyd by far. My second choice would be Queen, which incidentally are not listed (!!!)

Deal. Wow, I've never heard anyone say that INXS doesn't have rhythm, even if those same people don't like their music. That's news to me.

It isn't a joke. We all love Floyd but there are other bands that are very good as well. In terms of visual presentation I would agree with you but in terms of music......

I voted for RUSH, because I saw them live and it was WAY to much fun :jumpy: not for the 'visual effects' but for the damn music!
I saw Peter Gabriel recently, and while musically there was a lot of back-tracking going on, the visual effects were incredible...I guess they did that to distract from the back tracking, but Tony Levin was up there so it wasn't so bad musically.
