For me it would be You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vols. 1-6 (12 cds) - Frank Zappa

I have the Complete Illustrated Works of Lewis Carroll. That should mean something.

How do you know? Have you listened to every single box set ever produced, ever?

I hate boxed sets they suck. I also hate greatest hits albums, because they suck. They always leave things out, buy the albums, forget 'boxed sets' unless it is a 'complete recordings' boxed set like the Led Zeppelin one.

I have a Jeff Beck box set. It's pretty good.

When you have an artist like Beck who's played on different peoples records a box set / compilation is a good way to hear some of the more obscure things that he's done (that you otherwise wouldn't have known about). In that respect box sets are very useful.

I've really only got one box set...The Who: 30 Years of Maximum R&B. It's pretty decent. Pretty wide array of variety, spanning their career. And funny little commentaries and such in the betweens.

If you don't buy the boxed set then how are you supposed to get the cool box?

I've only two box sets, PF's Shine On and Tangerine Dream, and as YS8 states, they seem to always leave stuff out, Led Zeppelin's box set notwithstanding.

Driven, Jeff Beck appeared on Jools Holland's (of Squeeze fame) recent New Year's Eve "Hootenanny" and the things he did with, and the sounds he coaxed out of his guitar was absolutely stunning, amazing, mind-boggling. I think you get the picture.

Does his box set have his work with Stevie Wonder, by any chance?

I'd love to see that guy live.

Yeah there's a song or two there that were written by Stevie Wonder, trying to remember the names.
