Um, I'm not a good singer but I do have a bit of a croon if the stars are aligned correctly (and the beer is flowing freely).

As far as favourite singers:

Dave Gilmour
Jeff Buckley
the guy from Sigur Ros

Eric Clapton

I also dig Sarah McLachlan's voice.

I like Radiohead, but find Thorm Yorke's voice at most, intresting. I don't know how to 'sing' if you want to get technical about it, but I do like to sing along to songs I hear, I can't say i'm very good though..haha!

Oh yeah! Favorite singers...

1) Jon Anderson (haha)
2) Geddy Lee (People are probably going, what is YS8 thinking! But I love his voice...though I could never sing like that for obvious reasons, most just find his voice annoying)
3) Rog and Dave (they are both so cool)
4) Peter Gabriel
...many many more....
36) Thorm Yorke
....many many more....
79) Phil Collins
....Many Many more...
123) John Lennon
.....Many many more....
54646846546984651684698165169841) Kurt Cobian

Elton John in his best years was a ****ing brilliant singer and songwriter.

I am the Driven-type of singer, myself, I suppose.

Freddie Mercury
Tom Waits
David Gilmour
Fabrizio De André

I would have thought you'd be perfectly capable of singing like that, given your extreme youth and all.

Couple of favourite singers:

Ian McCulloch
Elvis Costello
Richard Hawley

I can sing, although my range isn't as good as a lot of other singers. Here are my fave singers:

Liam & Noel Gallagher (of Oasis)
Richard Ashcroft (formerly of The Verve)
Maynard James Keenan (of Tool and A Perfect Circle)
Layne Staley (of Alice In Chains... RIP Layne)

and of course... ROGER AND DAVE

I can keep a tune, but I'm not a wonderful singer. I'd never let anyone hear me sing! I don't really have 3 favourite singers but my top ten would definitely include Roger Waters, Freddie Mercury and John Lennon. I don't tend to like the "note perfect" voices-I like voices to have a bit more "character" (which is probably why I like Roger's voice- hardly note perfect is it? hehe.) What can I say? I'm strange!

I'm a singer, by default...no one else can ever remember the d*mn words, it seems. I'd rather someone else, with a better voice than mine, do the singing and 'frontman' duties, so I can concentrate on what I love (playing guitar), but, I usually have to do both. I don't mind singing a song every now and then, but if I have to sing them all, then I get tired of hearing myself. I have a low range, can't do anything real high. btw, a good English ale is nice way to keep the vocal cords moist.
Anyway...
Van Morrison is a damn good singer, imo. Has great versatility, wish I could sing as well.
Muddy Waters had a great voice, imo.
Levon Helm is cool.
Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull).
I rather like Johnny Cash's voice--deep and full of texture.
Jim Lauderdale, John Cowan, Clapton, many, many others...

I can sing many Jim Morrison songs, but not quite impressive. I do like Mick Jagger's voice, too.
