Yeah, that's what I thought. Slide guitar is just a term for playing guitar with a slide. But it appears that Rick's holding a lap steel guitar, but holding it like a regular guitar.

What song would he be playing on though?

I would guess Rick is just clowning around. If he were actually playing it, I'm sure he would be sitting, have it on his lap, and have the bar in his right hand (he's holding it as a lefty).

Well it would be awkward. The strings are so high above the frets that it would be tough to play it with your fingers, as he is clearly doing.

Sure but he DOES play some slide-sounding guitar on Sysyphus so I guess that's the instrument he used (considering the beard/hair length is contemporary with the Ummagumma studio recording sessions).

hmm the "Slide Guitar" is not an instrument! it's a common guitar, played with a glass/crystal bottleneck.
