Live concert videos

I like live concert videos but it is in my opinion that if they're gonna release a video of a concert, why not release a live album to go with it? It almost seems like a waste of their time mixing the audio... if they're releasing it... why not an album? I'd much rather a CD version of a concert than a DVD/VHS copy. Sometimes I don't always wanna watch them play it, I'd just rather listen. Plus... it's much more accessible (listen to it in a Discman, car stereo, home stereo). Concerts like Pompeii, David Gilmour In Concert, and various others SHOULD be on CD but aren't!

What do you floydians think!?

maybe studio versions are better if they are exactly like the live. in pink floyd's case their live versions tear apart the studio ones.

Guns N Roses brought out Live Era and its full of improv and other stuff which kept me listening to them for far longer than with just studio albums

Re: Live concert videos

i don't know folks, but i prefer live versions to studio ones...lots of songs are much better from concerts than studio, especially that early period before animals...
