Les Paul

anyone like his guitars? I talked to him at work the other day. Got his autograph and talked to him for like 20 minutes about guitars and stuff of the sort. He lives really close to me so I see him every now and then it's pretty cool.

Re: Les Paul

I personally am a Strat fan and I don't like that dull bassy Les Paul sound.

Re: Les Paul

i've got an epiphone les paul... i'm very pleased with it. I like Les Paul guitars, and personally i prefer them over strats, not that i have anything against strats.
If i ever were to buy a Strat it would be a copy of Syd's guitar. But that's just because it's Syd!
If i ever afford one, i'll buy a Vox AC30 amp. I have a Vox 15 amp, it's really good too. My next guitar'll prolly be a half acoustic... like an archtop or so.

Re: Les Paul

I would say Les Pauls are good guitars, depending on what you want to do with them! Compare slash to Gilmour! Need i say more?

Gilmour is a strat man as far as i know, slash is a les paul man, very different sounds.
I personally prefer the strat. It looks a bit, well, ordinary (because there are so many other makes of guitar that are just build exactly the same style) but I think its a fantastic guitar!

Re: Les Paul

Actually I'm strat boy myself, but it's still really cool that I met this guy that makes guitars and is like famous and stuff.

Finally, some guys who are willing to stand up to the mulleted, head banging, unwashed Les Paul-worshipping masses...Let's hear it for Leo Fender!

Re: Les Paul

My #1 axe is a les paul.
Their lead tone, in the right place, is unbeatable.
BUT... sometimes a strat just can't be outdone
