Re: Question about song "It's a miracle"

Well it's about the "miracle" of the globalization: eliminating differences among cultures and making them all working for a single goal: economy (you know the line in What God Wants part 3: "And in banks across the world Christians Moslems Hindus Jews / And people of every race creed colour tint or hue get down on their knees and pray"), and since someone is so sure free-market system is the only way to be civilized, the perfect globalization should reach the goal of a tension-free hunger-free poverty-free etc world ("By the grace of God Almighty / And the pressures of the marketplace / The human race has civilized itself")

It's also extremely sarcastic and loath towards today's society, "a doctor in manhattan saved a dying man for free.... a brazilian grew a tree... they had sex in pennsylvania" all of which are rare occurances and unfortunately would near qualify as a miracle...

glad i don't live in Pennsylvania lol

It's all ironic, in the end... There's a town in Pennsylvania called "Intercourse". And no, I'm not kidding.

Cheers!

I visited that town with my eighth grade class as part of a class trip a few years ago. I remember they had a gift store selling tshirts with quotes such as: "VA is for lovers, but PA is for Intercourse," or something like that. Back in eighth grade, it was quite a big deal to be in a place called Intercourse. That was at least 6 years ago.

Re: Question about song "It's a miracle"

Isn't anal intercourse still considered a crime somewhere...? Maybe in Pennsylvania...?

It comes from a joke:

Q "What did Jesus Christ say when he was on the cross?"

A "Hey Pete I can see your house from here!!"

I guess it tickled Roger's fancy
