roger waters - total arse or genius ?

I just finished reading the Pink Floyd biography-- a saucerful of secrets. It was pretty good--- but it certainly gave the sense that roger waters was... quite the pain in the arse. Not that I have less respect for the songs that he wrote, but i just wanted to know what you all thought, or if you had read the book or not. Also, anyone know of a Beatle's song that ends with the words: round and round and round... then fades out (like most beatles songs... thanks!)

Re: roger waters - total arse or genius ?

I think Waters was both, IMO. A lot of geniuses can act like that.

BTW, I cannot think of the Beatles song you mention, but I know that I will probably remember it while lying in bed, and then slap myself.

the image of a person randomly slapping themselves in bed is amusing.

Roger is my idol... AND an asshole. There's not doubt in my mind he is one arrogant old fart... but can ya blame him? He's Roger Waters... I only hope to be like him some day. Start a band... take over after the leader gets terribly ill... make some memorable albums... get voted out... hate all my friends. Make new ones that like me because I have money and music... ahhh... the man is living a dream.

Re: roger waters - total arse or genius ?

Throw in another vote for both.

He is a genius, not doubt about that.

He is also an arrogant asshole.

Love his music though.

Re: roger waters - total arse or genius ?

When you're that talented, you are allowed to act like an asshole. You're also allowed to be a bit paranoid and neurotic because, knowing that you're talented, you automatically think that other people are out to get you.

How do I know all this? I'm paranoid and I'm also narcississtic.
