Re: Cover versions

i promise you the editing was not to change it from 28, it always was 18, anyways i just thought how appropriate that the echo and the bunnymen song i liked was a cover version and that it should appear in this thread anyways...

From what I understand, that is actually Gilmour's original CN demo. Everytime I've downloaded it, that's what I got, anyway.

I've never found an actual TOOL cover of CN.

Would love to have one, though.

I've heard two Foo Fighters and one Primus version of Have A Cigar...Wyclef's version of WYWH...The Wall 2000...Kitty's version of Run Like Hell (I did, too)...Unification Theory's version of Breathe (it sucked)...and a couple of albums called Delicate Sound Of Thunder and P.U.L.S.E. by some guys using a name really similar to Pink Floyd...in fact, it looks identical, but I know there must be some difference somewhere, otherwise the REAL Pink Floyd would have sued them.

Re: Cover versions

"See Emily Play" by Barrett disciple David Bowie is still the best Floyd cover I've heard.

Re: Cover versions

I have a cover of Comfortably Numb from a band called Charge. It's not half bad. Here is the link for it. http://www.math.duke.edu/~jefe For some reason it's named Rod Stewart and says it a live version by PF, Alice Cooper, Neil Young, Rare Earth and Tesla. Don't ask me. But it actually pretty good.

Fan Covers

Hi everyone, I'm new round here.

Does anyone know if there are any places on the net with fan covers? I've recorded a few tracks myself and want to know if there's "place for sadistic people like me"

Cheers

floyd covers

none of you guys have ever heard the band VOI VOD?
they do a rippin' version of both "Nile Song" and "Astronomy Domine"

of course Les Claypool from PRIMUS has his new band COL. LES CLAYPOOL'S FEARLESS FLYING FROG BRIGADE and on thier inagural tour in 2000 they covered "Animals" in it's entirety...they put that out as a live album...in fact vol. 1 of that two disc set also has "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"

the band VIDA BLUE (Page from Phish) covers "Sheep" and kicks that song's ass...which isn't easy for a keys/bass/drums trio with no guitar

the band WEIRD THING used to do a particualrly good version of "One Of These Days"

WEEN sampled "Echoes" in places on thier "GODWEENSATAN" album

The band LIGHTNING SEEDS (I think that was thier name) did "Lucifer Sam" and did a kick ass job of it.

The surf band LAWNDALE did a pretty cool combination of "Interstellar Overdrive" mixed with the jazz standard "Caravan"...but done in a surf guitar style.

CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN was known to play "Interstellar" in concert

PHISH has covered a bunch of Floyd in concert including "Great Gig", "Terrapin", and "Dark Side Of The Moon" in it's entirety...there is even a chunk of floyd on thier live in Europe CD called "Slip Stich and Pass" which has cover art by Hipgnosis
