i think you get a whole new appreciation for the floyd after listening to them whilst stoned, but i find it impossible to concentrate and end up getting bored. if youre gonna get stoned listen to some stand up comedy. though id rather listen to the floyd sober.

Well, I don't have a problem with people getting stoned or drugged while listening to music, but to me the mere fact of listening to the stuff I like (Especially Pink Floyd) gets me high enough. I don't need any substances - the fun comes by itself.

Pink FLoyd kicks total ass no matter what substance you're on. Floyd is like a drug in itself- and if you mix drugs, it can have a negitive effect. Take pot with Floyd- go ahead. I won't make much of an impact of difference.

I dont smoke, but i drink!
A few drinks, then for instance "Set the controls for the heart of the sun" puts me in some kinda farout great feeling mood... Hard to explain. Im just so deeply in love with the music of floyd.
However, it can be just as good sober. But alcohol can really give me the kick, sometimes...

Re: A question for those people that feel music very deeply.

Kids dont do drugs, seriously. I had to realize that the hard way. I once was listening to Sound Tribe Sector 9 (if you know who they are, awesome if not...oh well their just a jam band thats pretty cool) and after just listening to one bootleg show in my friends room next to mine I went back into my room in the dorm took a shower got my bag packed thinking it was monday morning, I walked out of the room with my pack and realized I never started my homework for the weekend so I went back to my friends room askin to look at the work for one class we both have...but because of the messed up state I was in...I failed to realize the reality(I was far from it)that only an hour and a half had passed. So I went back into my buddies room and we just chilled for the next 8 some hours. Once again...kiddos...dont do drugs. Ive been clean for almost a year and I am damn proud of it.

Re: A question for those people that feel music very deeply.

Most of you clean Floyd fans would probably hate to live in my town. A lot of the kids my age here, 18-19 year olds, like Floyd but all they've ever heard is DSOTM, The Wall, Wish You Were Here (the song, not album), and maybe a song or two off the Echoes compilation. And they all insist that you can't truly understand the Floyd if you're not high.

I don't smoke, do drugs, or drink. I just listen to Floyd and have a good time. You don't need any of that other shite. Music is all you need.
