The Sandbox.

Syd Barrett's little diddy "Bike" was always a favourite Syddity of mine, I knew I wanted it to inspire me but I guess I had to wait a bit for it to ^_^; This is a song that was in face, inspired by Bike and the early sound of "The Pink Floyd" It's a little short, but I hope it pleases.

The Sandbox

We're gonna skip away
When we have the time to play
It's time to let our dreams go free.
You are you, and I am me
Come on, Chap I'll race you to the tree.

We're on top of the world
Nothing can bring us down.
And when you're around
You turn my little frown upside down.
We trust... nothing can seperate us.

But then I see her by the sandbox.
With her little dress and her golden locks.
She's so keen, but I'm unseen...
It was never meant to be.

I see your worried glance...
When I don't play kickball
And think about romance.. NO SIR!
What do you take me for?
I'd never leave my best pal
Even for the angel I adore

But I see her by the sandbox
With her little dress and her golden locks.
She's so keen, but I'm unseen... it's almost obscene.

Confusion starts, be still my beating heart.
The giggles and the questions just rip me apart.
She likes you, do you like her?
Her, or my friend... which one do I prefer?

What happened? We were on top of the world...
Nothing could bring us down
But this thing called love... push came to shove
Now my frown isn't upside down...
We're so young, we have so much time
My childhood was at it's prime...

We're now hand in hand by the sandbox...
There's still her little dress and her golden locks.
She loves me, I love she...
But why do I feel so empty?

Then I saw him crying near the sandbox
sitting by himself with his building blocks.

That one paragraph has more meaning than I can come up with...

Thanks for the poem FBKness
