Vulgar Lyrics

I was reading this threat on ICP and about the crappy lyrics and all the violent language. i certainly disapprove of that crap, mainly cause it generally sucks. But thats me... which is why i avoided rap and all that other stuff. that's me though. Maybe you like the effect.

Tuninos es muy feo !

I don't like vulgar/violent lyrics either.

I think it's used as a substitute for substance by shallow minds who've never had an original thought.

I agree with the above. (Of course I could be saying that on acount of the size of stratman's member) But these type of lyrics come in handy when raw emotion or hate has to be expressed.

I used to like that stuff, before I realized all of the good music I was missing out on. I think Eminem is a perfect example of obscenity: really, is there any reason to say things like that in every single song? I mean, why all the anger? Wouldn't you go to therapy or try to swing your life around if you felt that hostile? I certainly dislike feeling angry: I can't imagine why anyone would want to feel that way, and be labeled as feeling that way.

Yes, the reason is money. As long as it sells, you know, that's the market.

This is true. Unfortunately, it's a pretty false way to go through life.

I like Eminem. I at least applaud him for the hilarious comments directed towards the pop world.

Oh, and he knows it. He makes fun of everyone for thinking he's anything new or special. It's quite funny.

Well the only real arrogant people I have respect for are Roger and Ren (boy do I love that little Asthma Hound Chihuahua!). No one else's arrogance even compares!

I'm really sick... It feels like my eyes are going to pop out of my head because someone's squeezing my face.

Should I stop squeezing your face, then?

Ha ha I LOVE Ren!

Anyway, I know Eminem has a right to free speech and all that, but I disagree with how he puts down women. He has a daughter. What kind of message is that sending her?

Eminem doesn't go to therapy for his anger because his rap is his therapy. That's right, all his songs are done for himself except for the catchy singles (My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Without Me) that he is forced to write. But other than those it's all therapy for himself so he doesn't actually kill his mother, ex-wife, or innocent N*Sync pretty boys. He doesn't give a damn about us, it's for him, himself, and he... but the record company notes that we just LOVE his taboo nature so they cash in on it, record his therapy sessions and pay him for it. It's a sweet deal, so I can see why Eminem puts up with everything that's thrown at him.

Ah, but let's not forget the few moments when Floyd used offensive words. "Don't give me that do-goody-good bulldoodoo!" (More like Dark Side Of The... PARENTAL ADVISTORY STICKER!) or "Freak all that, we've gotta get on with these!" How offensive! Meep! Someone call Tipper Gore so we can slap a parental advisory sticker on The Final Cut! Lighten up people, this is the new age, a lot of good music uses naughty words. (Radiohead, anyone?) They're just sentance enhancers and nothing more... though if a party is being formed to bash Eminem, I'm all for that ^_^

Well at least anger or extreme emotion one way or another provides focus for writing albums, otherwise The Wall wouldn't exist.

Without wanting to get political, that's the trade-off of democracy. Freedom meaning loss of control over people, so really its up to the parents....blah...blah...blah...blah.
