1970 Bootleg

I recently got an amazing bootleg of Floyd from a 1970 concert. The track listing is like this:

Astronomy Domine
Fat Old Sun
Atom Heart Mother
Cymbaline
Embryo
Blues
More Blues

I've never really been into that era of Pink Floyd but I really like the live stuff, mainly Gilmour. I love his solos, espicially on Fat Old Sun. It's great. I also like Embryo, and the blues songs are cool too. David Gilmour always said that the style of music he is beat at are the blues, and it really shows on the blues songs. I really have to get More and Atom Heart Mother now too! If only they weren't so hard to get on vinyl....

I think the years from 1970 to 1972 are possibly the best period for Pink Floyd live.

I wholeheartedly agree, and would love to get my hands on some bootlegs, particularly that of my namesake. What's the best way to get into that?

And yes, I know I'm a rookie Floyd fan and all, no comments from the peanut gallery.

Yeah I definitely agree. Although It's so sad that songs like "The Violent Sequence (the whole entire suite)", "Embryo(the full-length live version", "Blues", and "The Man and the Journey (the concept thing that they did live around 1969)" nver made it to official release.

These days, definitely downloading from internet. WinMx, KazaaLite, etc.

well, this is the "Smoking Blues", a very famous concert by PF recorded at the Montreux Casino on 21 nov 1970.
On the original CD, "Blues" is listed as Just another 12 bar.

The fast and very good blues about 5:00 from Montreux is in fact the end of Biding My Time.

no, you're wrong. it's just a blues with some guitar improvisation. the solo on biding my time is in F key and Just Another 12 Bar is E key.

Wow. But you don't have the whole record where the blues starts (on my record, it fades in), do you?

I finally got a copy of this gig, but unfortunately it doesn't have 'Just Another 12 bar' - cracking version of 'Embryo', though!
