Who said anything about starting a war within this newly suggested forum?? For me, it's quite simple; If you do not wish to get involved, avoid it altogether. We are all capable of making our own choices, and hopefully, mature enough to deal with the consequences.

I love this site because of it's friendly "vibe" I also enjoy the fact that we can "take the piss" (as we say in England) for what it's worth, and have some fun and laughs.

Based on that sentiment, if some topical and lively debate comes about as a result, then I feel it would be a good thing as long as it is not SUBJECTED to anyone.

I have some very strong opinions regarding war, politics, religion etc... (as I'm sure everybody else has) However, I would never (and HAVE never) expressed these opinions to those who do not wish to enter the arena of debate. As I can only judge myself, I think it is only fair to afford everybody in this community the same opportunity.

If it all goes tits up, then as The Piper suggested, we can ditch it.

I'm sure I would...it's just that if one would consider this particuliar forum idea a "forbbiden fruit" or "pandora's box" no-one is suggesting that a bite should be taken or the box should be opened. It's all about freewill, me thinks.

I personally think it's all an option. Join in, or don't. I don't like arguing that much, so I probably won't join in too much if such a forum is made. On the other hand, I am genuinely interested in other people's opinions, and will be looking in out of pure interest.

i like the idea of a forum where we can discuss everything, and in reality we do discuss almost everything on this forum, with a few major exceptions, and i was wondering why there should be any rules at all for the "adult" forum, but then i remembered that this forum is to do with pink floyd, so i now understand why there must be some limits, we dont wanna any gary glitter types (you know what i mean) frequenting the boards we love.

piper when you discussed ways people avoid the profanity filter did you mean that its not okay to say f**k? as though this really isnt anything i think we all know what its supposed to mean.

and to lifemask, please dont get me started on the topic of wankel rotary engines, my views on this subject are very. very strong and i might say some things that offend some people.

just incase you arent as sad as me, the wankel engine, the greatest break through in internal combustion engines after otto came up with the cycle, sadly mis understood and under rated by many.
