Heh... Yeah, sometimes I don't know about this place. Actually, a lot of these people remind me of the weirdos I work with, and that's not necessarily a bad thing (but it's not necessarily a good thing, either...).

I'm a deviant sociopath (a new term that replaces psychopath). I consider myself normal. Don't you?

Re: New forum for unmoderated & mature discussion

Uh... last time I checked, we were considering an adult forum, where all kinds of political, religious, and generally unacceptable conversations could be considered.

Shouldn't the "wedding thread" be confined to the already existing er..ahem ..wedding thread????

It strikes me as very odd that when a "newbie" comes on the boards asking a very relevant Pink Floyd question, he/she is unceremoniously refered to the "archive" section, (and duly chastised) due to the fact that the topic has been previously addressed.

However, people seem more than happy to reiterate the details of a trivial and unrelated thread (wedding) what gives ???

We are reliving the events of our lives, as opposed to dredging up trivia that does not concern the progress of our minds or selves. This is the difference.

This site exists as a community, and as such it is subject to conversations, relationships, friendships, and the like. These are interpersonal topics, and they are the things that our brains most readily recall and enjoy-- topics such as 'What are the voices saying in the background of Us and Them?' exist entirely as inconsequential data and, as interesting as they may be intellectually, do not concern the day-to-day psyche as do those interpersonal relations.

In other words, we are here to have fun, not to exchange facts. There is nothing wrong with factual exchange, but such is not as enjoyable as is the relishing of a good time had.

Re: New forum for unmoderated & mature discussion

Gerald,

First of all, it must be stressed that if you do not wish to join and enter a forum such as the one suggested, then you have no obligation to do so. The choice is yours.

In addition, your attempt at intelligent debate has failed you once again.

You have the tools, yet lack the brain-power or experience to weave a coherent message. Big words, no substance... These will come in due course.

In the meantime, don't argue with me!

Re: New forum for unmoderated & mature discussion

Hmm... don't argue with me. Sounds like an authoratative parent (please excuse the spelling mistakes). This forum is meant for arguments, remember.

By the By : What our beloved Pandaman (a.k.a. GeraldTheMouse) was trying to say I believe is this :

We try to have fun here. We invite you to join in as well. BUT, things like "So who likes Van Halen" Or (my favourite) "What do you think about the PUBLIUS enigma" or things like that gets on everyones nerves because it's been done with and killed and revived and killed and revived and killed somemore some 15 million, gazillion times. To the extent that some people threatened to quit if someone brought up Van Halen or something repeated again. So for the sake of everyone's sanity, we advise newbies to 'search before post'. Don't take things too personally, everyone goes through it. It seems very personal at first but believe me, these are some of the most nicest, kindest and adjusting people you'll ever meet. I should know, because of the stunts I've pulled here and how people have tolerated them too. I should be thankful.

This is in no way a criticism of you, Mr Wildman. Just that, well... there are reasons for everything. If you hang around here as long as some of the guys have, you'll soon understand why.

Cheers

Simon
