Favourite Wright composition (with floyd)?

I didn't include 'It would be so nice' because I assumed nobody would vote for it. I know that 'Wearing the inside out' isn't technically a Wright composition as the lyrics aren't his, but it's still a good sample of his talent so it's included.

It's correct to include WTIO (Rick is a musician more than a lyricist) but for the same reasons you should include Us & Them (music by Wright, lyrics by Waters). You also forgot Shine On Part 9.

There is no evidence that Wright wrote all the music to 'Us and them', as the song is credited to (Waters, Wright). That would just be an assumption.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of his writing of SOYCD part 9. My copy of WYWH simply divides the song into part one and two (i.e. tracks 1 and 5), the first credited to (Waters, Gilmour, Wright) and the second (Wright, Waters, Gilmour).

About Us And Them: no, it's not an assumption, it is a fact. This comes from both Rog and Rick interviews and is anyway a well known thing.

Roger gets way too much credit just for writing the lyrics to a song. In how many tracks did Roger write music on Dark Side of the Moon? That would be nice to know..

Well, I would make adjustments to the poll, but I don't know how.

Mad yannis, find me an interview where Rick or Rog said that all the music for 'Us and Them' is written entirely by Rick, cause I'm still not convinced. I mean, Roger's name is first in the credits for it.

Roger Waters, Washington Post, April 28th 1992: (about Dark Side) "The other major influence is Rick Wright, who did the music on Us and Them (...)"

Hello all Rick's fans around here!
I think the best Rick Wright's work for the band is SOYCD part 9 ...but most of his songs are great... Great Gig is maybe the best Floyd song not sounding like Floyd... Wearing The Inside Out is wonderful (shame it was not played live instead of the crappy Take it Back), also his early works are great... Summer 68, Remember A Day, Paintbox... really hard to choose... he is my favourite member of the band because he is most interested in jazz (of the Floyd) and that fresh sound is clearly heard through his career... Wet Dream is the best solo instrumental work of the Floyd members and Broken China is a great experimentation with new possibilities of music... and a concept album... really well done concept album... amazingly, the last full-lenght studio album from Pink Floyd and the members.

Does any1 know if 'Wearing the inside Out' was played at any-time during the Pulse tour? I mean, was it ever played live?

WTIO unfortunately was never played live, even if it has been played at rehearsals.

And bubla: yes.

I didn't see Us and Them anyhwhere, so I picked Wearing the Inside Out. They are two of Pink Floyd's finest songs.

It's really unfortunate that they chose to play Take it Back instead of Wearing the Inside Out. It's such a great song.
