hehe but sorry to say, it's not my hometown, Beograd, but Zagreb (capitol of Croatia, our neighbouring country) went to see exhibiton, my fave painters and paintings by Jacob Maris, Weissenbruch and Van GOgh (early Hague school)  beautiful city Beograd and Zagreb have so many things in common, just Beograd is bigger a lot and was demolished in WW2 etc and we have many new ugly buildings, while in Zagreb is that "old" feel more

| Re: The Post your Picture thread!! I enjoy Van Gogh's work myself, as well as that of Vermeer ( The Astronomer is my favourite work) and Pieter De Hooch. Is that Zagreb that you have photographed? It looks a very interesting place.

yes, it is. i spent there one day with my (now) best friend, last year in april, we went for a walk thorugh the city, and to see that exhibition (she's painter and we have very close taste) can find more photos if you want :] one of my best short journeys i've had :] speaking of Gogh, yes, i told, he;s one of 3 of my fave painters, have you read book: "Lust for Life" by IRving Stone? it's biography of Gogh. great book, but it made me cry so many times while reading it, I strongly recommend you (this guy Stone wrote his famous book "Moulin ROuge" which is biography of Touluse-Lautrec, and also in this Gogh book, you can get fine picture about other painters who were around him, for example Gaugin, Serra, Lautrec, Weissenbruch etc)

| Re: The Post your Picture thread!! hmm i wanted to post you 2-3 photos of my town, but i found out just right now that the cd with those photos is - dead  and i don;t have them anywhere else (cause i have small hard disk (70GB+10GB fo linux), and burn music/photos i take/movies etc to cd/dvd):[

| Re: The Post your Picture thread!! starbuck's? well as far as i know, here in europe only in UK and maybe Netherlands or France, there is Starbuck's anyhoo, i don't drink coffee but there is excellent brewery in Zagreb ;] *well in every great european city there are excellent breweries :] or i'm missing the point of some joke? :[]
