First, it was one guy (Chuck Buckman), not multiple guys. Second, it was an accident due to obscured vision (another car in the way). Third, it's called motor racing, which is considered slightly more dangerous than normal driving. Sometimes people get hurt or killed, and it's part of the assumed risk of participation.

So, it doesn't look like there will be a scapegoat this time.

Full disclosure: My boss's son worked for Newman-Haas and Andretti for many years. Our company has, at various times, sponsored and/or owned several cars, from a Lola, Jr. to a classic McLaren F1 Marlboro car. Yes, I like racing.

No one has said it was her fault.

The pits were extremely crowded, and Buckman apparently stepped into her path as he was looking back over his shoulder talking to someone else.
