I love the opening to Apocalypse Now with The End.

Think I'll go for "Ashes to ashes" by David Bowie for no good reason.

It is very beautiful, to me, at least.

(Also the 'rain down' bit in Paranoid Android)

Hey Stratman, are the lyrics to 'You and Your Friend' supposed to be about an orgie? BTW, it's a dire straits song, not just Mark Knopfler.

You're right. Dire Straits. My mistake.

I've never heard any background explanation of the lyrics; I just assumed it was some guy's kiss-off to his cheating girlfriend. (i.e., "your friend" is a male rival)
However, I can see your point. If "your friend" is assumed to be another female then it certainly could be what you say. I never imagined Mark Knopfler to be that kinky.

I love the guitar playing, not the lyrics, BTW.

Almost always makes me cry. It's so soulful. (Especially the one in "On The Night"). I believe it is a kiss-off to cheating g/f too.

= The End - The Doors
= The Orchestra version of Love Street - The Doors
= Canon in D - J Pachelbel
= Shawshank Redemption
= Music by Quartango
= Celtic Moods - Loreena McKennit

TONS more...
