Is it a good idea??

Is it a good idea to modify the Floyd's albums like the new DSOTM album?? I voted yes because it's good to have a different choice of music rather than just one form. Keep doin' what yer doin' musicians, dont be afraid to take a legendary band and morph their music!

I tend to think if it ain't broke don't fix it. But that depends if the new version is really better at all or just an addition of zeroes.

I agree. I think the original DSOTM is amazing. However, I haven't heard the new mix so I really couldn't answer impartially.

Can anyone tell me if the conventional stereo mix included on the hybrid DSOTM SACD was remixed or is it the same stereo mix as the previous CD releases?

I like a variety. One can always go back to listening to the original if one doesn't like it.

Apparently Roger likes the new mix and says this is really how it was meant to sound. It gives people the option, and this new mix has the stereo mix on it anyway.

I think PF always supported anything that could be done to make their songs sound better, so if a new better mix is possible it should be done.

Oh, I think the stereo mix is the original, but am not too sure.

TOF: the new SACD will include a new remixed and remastered stereo CD version.

Anyway I think aPhan was actually talking about the reggae-style Dub Side Of The Moon and other similar projects...
