I Hate to Be a Typical Newbie, but...

...I have to ask, what is the future for Roger Waters touring?

Being a young fan of a defunct band sucks. I have never seen Roger Waters live.

I should say, being a young fan of a defunct foreign band sucks, because posthumous tours usually stay within the performers' home continent.

Anyway, I'm a 22-year-old American who wants desperately to see Roger Waters live. Any info would be appreciated.

Roger is going to spend this year recording his new album (at the moment scheduled for Spring 2004 release) so I guess this year a tour is highly unlikely but *maybe* he's going to support this album with a tour next year. Just guessing here.

Do you think he'd ever stage The Wall again? 2004 is the 25th anniversary of the album and all.

I recently read in an interview with Rog that this is probably not going to happen anymore. He's not into such big events at the moment, even if he considered the thing in the recent past. Not to mention the difficulties and costs of a similar production.

Well, it doesn't have to be on a huge scale like the old tours. I just want to see Roger Waters on stage, playing the Wall.

It's been such an important album to my life, you know?

I could imagine an extremely stripped-down production of it. If Roger would like me to script and direct it, I'd be happy to.

You should have aborted your studies last year, mate, and got your American arse over here to see his ITF finalés in London and/or Paris. I realise this doesn't help you at all now, but you really should have.

Roger may use the current military threat as fodder for his new album this year, but a tour of that, if any, wouldn't be until late 2004 or 2005 by my reckoning.

Well, I don't mind waiting at all. It's just one of those "someday" things for me.

In any case, I've been looking into moving to Europe in 2005, so maybe that would help.

I can't wait to see how he manages to work his father's death into the Iraq thing.

It's hard to find something to laugh about the "Iraq thing" but you did it!

Much like the band we follow, there seems to be a lot of cross-member feuding here. I'll enjoy throwing out some Gilmour barbs from time to time.

What are you talking about? We're a happy community of like-minded individuals working together in peace and harmony for the common good, you blankety blank.
