New Albums

There are some pretty cool new albums that have been released recently (that is, in the past year).

I just bought Pieces of the Sun by Tony Levin and The Power to Believe by King Crimson.

Pieces of the sun is an excellent instrumental album. There is a huge range of musical styles on the album. While Tony isn't the best at composing music, this album has some truly amazing moments. Four out of five stars.

The Power to Believe is the album that i've been waiting for awhile, and I have to say that it was well worth it. The album has a very metal sound, except it's played with much innovation. The instrumentals - which encompass 3/4 of the album - are very cool. The Power to Believe pt II and Dangerous Curves are two instrumentals unlike anything that i've ever heard. They are very experimental. One again, King Crimson manages to explore new ground with this album. Five stars.

Well, i'd definitely like to hear some feedback on this album. If you don't have it, buy it. Any prog rock fan should be thoroughly pleased. Also, post any new albums that are worth checking out. I still haven't bought the new John Paul Jones or Robert Plant albums.

Though I don't really think it's a recent release, I just got OK GO's self-titled. I suggest it, I like it.

Radiohead's new album is coming out on June 10th (or thereabouts), with the lead single ('There There') being released on May 19th in Japan and the 25th in Britain.

I am suitably excited.

It's true. www.greenplastic.com

And I hope they tour, as well. Maybe they'll come back to Florida.

They'll come to California, seeing as it's a very important state. Horray for California. Woot! Woot!

Thanks for the heads up on the new Crimson release. KOL CD and concert were great! Check out Indonesian pop singer Anggun who recently did a collaboration with Peter Gabriel.

What happened to the Radiohead March release date? I feel lied to.

In other news, if they don't stop at Chicago it will be because the world has melted.

It was pushed back, as always.

Jonny Greenwood has said that they are gonna tour 'everywhere' for this new album, so maybe this will include Chicago - and hopefully Florida.

Hopefully they go to all the states, all of the good states like California, Chicago and Florida, they can skip some of the shitty ones like North Dakoda, who the hell cares?

They last played Tampa in 1996. I feel cheated, somehow.
