Is there an animals soundboard?

hey, i have been looking for a good performance from the animals tour other than plays the animals, which isn't even that good. Anyone have a better audience recording or is there a soundboard that is ultra rare. Thanx. Hopefully the floyd has a soundobard locked up that they are going to release!!!

"Animal Overdrive" is pretty good. It's from Fort Worth, Texas on May 1st 1977. Thay say it's been remastered.

You may already know, the 1977 Floyd live shows were known as the "In the Flesh" tour.

Check out http://www.pf-roio.de/ for a fairly comprehensive listing (with reviews) of Floyd RoIO's.

Okay, the show from the Oakland Coliseum on 9/5/77 is decent. It's definately much better quality sound-wise than the Montreal show. The playing is incredible, and the band seems to be having a pretty good time. This was towards the beginning of the "In the Flesh" tour when they were still enjoying themselves and before Roger built his "Wall." This is the "Wall" that resulted in his outburst in the Montreal show. After listening to the RoIO from Montreal (which sounds like the band was playing at the end of a long tunnel), Oakland Coliseum 9/5/77 is very enjoyable. Here's some more info that you will find on the RoIO reference site the Good Cheese Dr. mentioned above: http://www.pf-roio.de/roio/roio-cd/o...eum_77.cd.html.

Decent? The Okland Coliseum gig was fantastic. The sound quality, while not quite as good as that on "Welcome To the Machine" (02JUL77 New York City), is still more than acceptable.

It sounds to me as if you have one of the badly executed ROIOs of that show. Grab "Azimuth Coordinator Part 2," and your opinion will be forever changed regarding this show. The sound quality is actually at least as good as "Plays the Animals," and I was startled to hear that the performance was red-hot, especially with all the talk from David Gilmour about how he thought their performance this particular night was lacking.

He actually wrote his comments into the quote.

*shrug* It sure ain't usenet. You get the idea, though. All those folks complaining about the Montreal gig sounding as if it were performed in a tunnel have the lower quality tape source that ANOTHER TAPER made at that gig. I say again, GRAB A COPY OF "AZIMUTH COORDINATOR PART 2." To my ears, at least, it's at least as good as all the Oakland Coliseum ROIOs, SQ-wise. I still think the Oakland show was the best performance, though. However, I was very surprised to discover how great the band sounded for the Montreal show, David Gilmour's comments that he thought otherwise notwithstanding.
Do yourself a favor and listen to it, and toss out that crap copy made from a tunnel.

Who is it that sings "Have A Cigar" live, since Roy Harper did it in the studio?

I'm listening to "Animal Overdrive" right now and it has Mr. Waters singing the main parts and Mr. Gilmour joining in every so often. From all the 77 shows I've listened to that was pretty much how it was with all of them.

In 75 it was the same vocals, except Harper sang live with them at Knebworth.
