| Why is post-Waters Floyd hated so much? I'm new to PF and have notice that a lot of people here really don't like the Gilmour led Pink Floyd. My question is, why? Not to knock Waters or Barret, but IMO David Gilmour is a triple treat in music. Great song writer, guitar player and singer. PF's last two albums are two of the best pieces of music I have ever heard. Gilmour's singing and guitar work on these albums is flawless. The sound of AMLOR and TDB is hypnotic. I love The Wall, Animals and DSOTM, but the last two are Pink Floyd at their peak for me. Now, I have to admit that I don't own any Sid Barret PF albums yet, so I may not know what I'm talking about. But, for me it's David Gilmour from here on out.

| Re: Why is post-Waters Floyd hated so much? I think it has a lot to do with what they have to live up to with the Pink Floyd name. Following up albums like The Wall, Animals, WYWH, etc, the albums are going to be compared, pure and simple. In comparison to those albums, how does AMLOR and TDB stand? Not so good, but on it's own I really like AMLOR. The Division bell, however, I'm still trying to get into...

| Re: Why is post-Waters Floyd hated so much? I honestly, couldn't tell you, I just recently got Momentary Lapse and I rather enjoy it. And I've seen the PULSE video, wasn't a bad show at all. Certainly better than Delicate Sound, and that damned mullet-headed sax player....how I hate him! he just plays like a jerk....anyway, I highly suggest Syd's stuff, if not with the Floyd, at the very least his solo efforts, which are brilliant. |

| Re: Why is post-Waters Floyd hated so much? the thing is that Post Waters Pink Floyd is a ( Jon Carin quote ) " a complete gilmour's 99% solo effort with various artists " , it's pretty good , i like Pulse live show and reworked versions of CN and Run Like Hell , but the Floyd sirca 1967-1983 is the better and somewhat more real . it's not a band anymore . |

| Part right Gilmour is great- in fact he's my favoite member- he's a great guitarist and songwriter- but it was just at the peak when Waters was around- That's it. Everybody was at the peak |
