Getting 'Sever too busy' Message

Is anyone else having this problem? Every now and again whenever I try to access a link or post, I get a message 'the server is too busy please try later'. It seems to be happening a lot. Also it seems like I'm actually being logged out when it happens because the register button comes back next to the 'get new' button.
Of course, if it's just the case that the server is too busy, then that's fine, obviously one of those things.
But it seems to be happening too much, and I can't ever recall it happeing before the site went down a while back.

Re: Getting 'Sever too busy' Message

It happened a lot a while ago, and it's happening a lot now.

I have no idea what's causing it, though. Maybe the Piper can give us an explanation.

I know

They said that they had just switched servers and it might not work because the server is unstable at first.

Re: Getting 'Sever too busy' Message

I keep getting the server busy error message a lot. It's driving me crazy. Maybe I'm just here too much.

Re: Getting 'Sever too busy' Message

This thread should have included a poll so we could get a total count without all this reading .

We have set the site to turn down visitors when the server load is too high. If we allow it like we did on the other server, we risk crashing the server, which would lead to account suspension, like it has happened in the past weeks, before the move to the new server.

Unfortunately, we may have to deal with this. It's the price we pay for not having a dedicated server to APFFN.

I'll raise the limits a little bit, though, to see if this helps a bit. Are you noticing this pretty much around the same time every day or just in general?

What happens is when such a message is shown, the system does not even check to see if you're a registered user or not.

Re: Getting 'Sever too busy' Message

It seems to happen mostly in the evening, not really at a certain time just generally in the evening.
Thanks for letting me know.
