Re: New Radiohead album

When Amnesiac is good, it's really f**king good. When it's boring... you get the picture.

Re: New Radiohead album

I beleive the version on Amnesiac was done before the Kid A version. Thom dug it up, announced it as an 'incredibly ancient' version they had recorded, a version he even forgot recording. So they stuck it on there.

I dig the Kid A verson more.

Re: New Radiohead album

So here's my theory about the new album-- It's rather far-fetched and I don't know if I believe it or not, but it's interesting nonetheless.

The tracks were leaked on purpose. They aren't the actual tracks intended to go on the album-- they're B-sides that the band had sitting around and released in order to create a red herring. Kid A and Amnesiac both leaked, and Radiohead are aware of that; thus they created this fake album (cleverly titled 'Hail to the Theif') in order to keep people from looking for leaks of the actual tracks. This way, when the actual album comes out in June, no one will have heard any of it. Think about it-- it's not like a Radiohead album. The name is strange, there are too many tracks (14), all of the tracks sound basically like normal songs (there's nothing like 'Fitter Happier,' 'Treefingers,' or 'Hunting Bears') and there are no songs resembling the experimentation of 'Kid A' or 'Pull/Pulk Revolving Doors.' I also find it suspicious that almost immediately after the names of the tracks for the new album were released, the tracks were leaked. Johnny Greenwood's interview in which he discussed the leak sounded surprisingly non-angry, as well.

Like I said, I don't know if I believe it, but it's something I came up with and I think it holds a fair amount of water, as far as conspiracy theories go. Any thoughts?

Re: New Radiohead album

Also of note: Track ten of the leaked album, 'I Will,' is the song that Radiohead switched around backwards to make 'Like Spinning Plates' (off of Amnesiac). I checked; it's the same melody. The original story I heard for 'Like Spinning Plates' was that they took a song they didn't like all that much and flipped it around-- and if that's true, why would they include a song they didn't like much on their new album?

Re: New Radiohead album

I'm not sure that Radiohead would do such a thing...but perhaps...

We will see, i'm just going to wait until June and buy the album, we'll see what happens.

thats news to me..i feel dumb for stating the obvious that kazaa has it....

its quite possible that radiohead did that tho cuz they always have extra tracks laying around.......

"Sit Down. Stand Up." is such an awesome song tho. ever since i heard that song ive been listening to more n more radiohead

Re: New Radiohead album

Um, so in their live shows the past 10 months they've been playing no new songs except "throwaways"? I find that incredibly hard to believe.

Re: New Radiohead album

I didn't say thowaways. I said B-sides. Maybe you've heard of them. 'Talk Show Host,' 'Fog,' 'How I Made My Millions,'... those are all B-sides too. Are they throwaways, Botley?
