| Grantchester Meadows ... a Barrett song?? Reading the Mojo magazine, the Floyd edition, in their page about Ummagumma they describe Grantchester Meadows as "Waters' take on an old Barrett pastoral". Umm, I'm pretty sure this isn't true, unless the Barrett version was never recorded, it hasn't ever turned up on any ROIO's as far as I'm aware... |

| Re: Grantchester Meadows ... a Barrett song?? Maybe they're confused by "Fat Old Sun," which is Dave's take on Roger's pastoral precedent.

| Re: Grantchester Meadows ... a Barrett song?? Your probably right, there are some inconsistencies. For example, they list 10 Floyd tracks which have been underrated and forgotten in one part, listing Fat Old Sun, and then in their review of Atom Heart Mother they say that Rick's Summer 68 is the only good song out of the 3 solo tracks, the rest being crap. Great mag though. But hey, when I'm able to sit there reading at work I get to read the thing through pretty thoroughly. |
