| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? ''One day closer to death' is my all time favourite. A brilliant way to look at the end of the day.

| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? From "One of my Turns" "And I feel cold as a razor blade Tight as a tournaquet Dry as a funeral drum" From "Nobody Home" "And ive got a strong urge to fly.......but ive got nowhere to fly to...." And finnally from "Comfortably Numb" There is no pain you are receding A distant ship, smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons. Now I've got that feeling once again I can't explain you would not understand This is not how I am. I have become comfortably numb.

| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? "WHAT SHALL WE DO NOW" What shall we use to fill the empty spaces Where waves of hunger roar? Shall we set out across the sea of faces In search of more and more applause? Shall we buy a new guitar? Shall we drive a more powerful car? Shall we work straight through the night? Shall we get into fights? Leave the lights on? Drop bombs? Do tours of the east? contract diseases? Bury bones? Break up homes? Send flowers by phone? Take to drink? Go to shrinks? Give up meat? Rarely sleep? Keep people as pets? Train dogs? Race rats? Fill the attic with cash? Bury treasure? Store up leisure? But never relax at all With our backs to the wall.

| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? it was just before dawn one miserable morning in black '44 when the forward commander was told to sit tight when he asked that his men be withdrawn and the generals gave thanks as the other ranks held back the enemy tanks for a while and the anzio bridgehead was held with a price of a few hundred ordinary lives and kind old King George sent mother a note when he heard that father was gone it was, I recall in the form of a scroll with gold leaf and all and i found it one day in a drawer of old photographs hidden away and my eyes still grow damp to remember his majesty signed it with his own rubber stamp it was dark all around there was frost in the ground when the tigers broke free and no one survived from the royal fusiliers company C they were all left behind most of 'em dead the rest of 'em dying and that's how the high command took my daddy from me - "When The Tigers Broke Free" Pink Floyd, The Final Cut - A Requiem For The Post War Dream For some reason, that song moves me more strongly than anything else

| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? Bus stop rat bag, ha ha charade you are. You f'cked up old hag, ha ha charade you are. You radiate cold shafts of broken glass. You're nearly a good laugh, almost worth a quick grin. You like the feel of steel, you're hot stuff with a hat pin, and good fun with a hand gun. You're nearly a laugh, you're nearly a laugh, but you're really a cry. |

| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? Not Pink Floyd, but close. You wake up in the morning, get something for the pot Wonder why the sun makes the rocks feel hot Draw on the walls, eat, get laid Back in the good old days. Then some damn fool invents the wheel...

| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? This is among my favorites.. it describes more than a few individulals that I've had to deal with..... And when you loose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown. And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone. And it's too late to loose the weight you used to need to throw around. So have a good drown as you go down, alone, dragged down by the stone.

| Re: What is your favorite Pink Floyd lyric? From morning to night I stayed out of sight Didn't recognise I'd become No more than alive I'd barely survive In a word...overrun Won't hear a sound From my mouth I've spent too long On the inside out My skin is could To the human touch This bleeding heart's Not beating much I murmured a vow of silence and now I don't even hear when I think aloud Extinguished by light I turn on the night Wear its darkness with an empty smile I'm creeping back to life my nervous system all awry I'm wearing the inside out i love that song

Perhaps the most profound lyric I've ever heard in my whole life. Brilliant.
